ISLAMABAD: Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Tanveer Meer Thursday directed the Station House Officer (SHO) Women Police Station (WPS) to submit a report over a case of  misbehaving with a parlour girl within 24 hours. including a doctor working at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and an owner of a beauty parlour. The girl filed an application Thursday under section 22-A after WPS allegedly refused to register First information Report (FIR).

The victim Tahseen Akhtar (applicant) said that she three months back joined a private beauty parlour ‘Niala’s Beauty Parlour’ in Sector 1-8/3 owned by Niala. She received a telephone call from the owner Niala on 16.04.2011 at night. Naila claimed she had lost her gold chain and Akhtar said she had no knowledge of that.The victim, in her petition, claimed that she worked as usual on 19.04.2011 and when she was about to leave in the evening, Naila called her to a room where a person Dr. Majid who works at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) was also present in Naila’s room. Akhtar entered the room and Naila came out of the room and locked the door. Majid started interrogating Akhtar regarding the lost gold chain and on the pretext of said theft allegedly misbehaved himself.

According to the petition, Dr Majid told the victim that he was a doctor at P1MS and treating the president Asif Ali Zardari’s father’s and threatened her to implicate her in multifarious accusations and could hand her over to the police. Akhtar stated that Naila contacted her again on 22.04.2011 and told her that a lady police constable was waiting for her in order to investigate regarding the lost chain and said that if Akhtar did not come to face the police, she would lodge an FIR against her (Akhtar). Akhtar stated she went to the prlour and was shocked that there was nobody there save for Naila, Aniq-ur-Rehman, and Dr. Majid.

Naila asked the gatekeeper to close the main gate. Akhtar claimed that Dr. Majid and Anique-ur-Rehman and Naila locked her and harrased her for more that one hour.

The petitioner, then, moved an application before the Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Tahir Alam khan and SHO women police station Parveen Faitima who refused to lodge FIR into the incident and told the petitioner that the perpetrators were influential and police could not proceed against them.

The court of Additional Sessions Judge Thursday instructed SHO Women Police Station to interrogate the matter and submit a report within 24 hours. Contacted, PIMS spokesman Dr Waseen Khawja told Daily Times that the accused Majid who claimed to be a doctor of the president’s father is not among the panel of physician treating Hakim Ali Zardai. Khawaja said this doctor might be among the junior rank and said he could not identify him because there were hundreds of doctors at PIMS.Duty Officer at Women Police Station Rubina said the station had received an application by the petitioner but could not register the case due to its sensitivity.
