SARGODHA: The principal of a women’s college in Sargodha has alleged that an MPA, Rizwan Gul, has been pressuring her to transfer a clerk and threatening her, reported a private TV channel on Sunday, but the MPA has denied this.
The principal, Shahida Kazmi, told the channel that the MPA wanted a “person of his choice” appointed to the post, even though the slot was not vacant. She said the MPA’s brother, Tabraiz Gul, visited the college some days ago, checked the college records and asked her to replace a clerk.
“On my refusal ... he threatened me and left,” she said, adding that the MPA phoned her later and misbehaved with her. “He said the college is ‘located in my constituency and will be run under my orders’,” she said. The principal has appealed to the Punjab chief minister and the chief secretary for help. Denying the allegations, the MPA says it is a conspiracy against him.
