Altaf Hussain, PPP Faction Join Hands to Save Musharraf

Now it is getting clear vividly as who stands where at the chessboard of Pakistani politics. MQM and the PPP Presidential camp stands united to save the former dictator as they don’t want to disturb the NRO and the ‘other’ things, while PPP Premier camp and PML(N) wants to see Musharraf tried under Article 6.

PML(Q) is too fractious to be noticed, though former dictator is trying hard to get  his foothold in Pakistani politics by replacing the Shujaat and uniting the Chattha league with the other splinters of Q league. ANP, JUI-F will go where they will be told to go.

The sudden “moment of truth” of Brigadier (r) Imtiaz, the former ISI spy of ‘midnight jackals’ fame and ex-director general of the Intelligence Bureau, is very interesting by its timing. All he has done is putting the Nawaz Sharif on defending another issue of the past. Brig. Imtiaz has been contacting different T.V channels to tell this “weight on his conscience”. Dr Shahid Masood of Geo’s ‘Meray Mutabik has also claimed that he was contacted by the retired officer Brig. Imtiaz for the appearance.

Ansar Abbassi has also made some claims in his report which was published in the News regarding as how some key government personalities are trying to safeguard Musharraf. Ansar says, “a key Pakistani diplomat from Washington recently visited London to meet Musharraf. It is believed that certain players in the government are in close liaison with the ousted dictator and want to defeat the bid to try Musharraf on high treason charges. The source said that a British national of Pakistani origin, who runs spices business in London, is financing pro-Musharraf campaign and is even organising Musharraf’s meetings with different media persons to oppose the demand for his trial. Recently he organised Musharraf’s meeting with some pro-Musharraf media anchorpersons at the residence of a Pakistani dentist there.” Ansar Abbasi calls it ‘Get Nawaz’ campaign, which is aimed at maligning Nawaz Sharif so much to keep him away from pushing for Musharraf’s trial.

Musharraf and his cronies are trying hard to save their skins, but they have to be face the music, no matter what.
