LAHORE: The Punjab government on Friday withdrew the subsidy on flour that will be sold at the pre-Ramzan standard rate from today (Saturday), a private TV channel has reported. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said the government had disbursed Rs 8 billion for the provision of subsidised flour and sugar to facilitate the people, especially the poor segment of the society, during the holy month of Ramzan. According to the channel, a 20kg flour bag will now cost Rs 540 on the open market from today. daily times
