KARACHI: Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Khuhro on Friday said Nawaz Sharif exposed his desire to derail the democratic reform in Pakistan with his last minute U-turn on the 18th amendment.
Speaking to reporters after Friday’s assembly session, Nisar Khuhro said the PML-N had already agreed to all the amendments put forth by the Rabbani committee, adding that, Nawaz Sharif stood alone in this dissent.
He said the leader of the PML-N was resisting the removal of General Zia's doctrine from the constitution.
Khuhro also criticised the PML-N for not accepting the demand to change the name of the NWFP to Pakhtoonkhwa. He said the province’s name should be changed in accordance with the wishes of the majority of its inhabitants. — DawnNews
