On 5 May 2010, Justice (Retd) Fakhar-un-Nisa Khokhar of PPPP tabled in NA the Muslim Family Laws (Amendment) Act 2010. Amid numerous conditions deliberated in the bill, it proposes that a husband, seeking permission for a second marriage, must provide medical evidence that his wife is unable to fulfill his sexual desires. It further suggests that the husband would also be bound to pay lifetime child support to ex-wife. Similarly, if he is financially capable, he should not deprive the divorcee from living in the house of ex-husband.
